You may not have heard of Battle Strikers but you will no doubt know about spinning top toys. Well Battle Strikers are just that, with a twist. They were released onto the market this year and are set to be one of the top Christmas toys for 2009. Battle Strikers Game

Battle Strikers are just spinning tops, but their innovative magnetic technology means they are a cut above the rest. They are no longer launched with ripcords, but are revved up by magnets before being released into battle. You no longer just watch your spinning tops in battle, you control them. There are various different Strikers to collect, all of which are customisable, meaning you can swap pieces around to make your own unique version. Each Striker has a strength in one category, of either attack, defence or control. By mixing up various strikers you can enhance the original strengths of the ‘out of the box’ version.

To play the game, you obviously need a Striker, but it does not stop there.

To be able to launch it you need a Turbo Launcher and to control it, you need a controller. The Launcher revs the top up to maximum speed before sending it off into the playing arena. The controller fits on your fingertip and uses its magnets to move the Striker around to battle your opponent. The aim is to fight any opposing Strikers out of the battle zone or to be the last top spinning.

You can buy a Tournament Set which includes everything you need for a two player game – two launchers, two controllers, two strikers and a battle arena. Alternatively you can buy a Starter pack which includes a launcher, a controller and a striker.

You do not need the battle area as you can play on any flat surface. Of course you can buy more strikers separately to increase your collection.

Battle Strikers Review

The idea of Battle Strikers was built around boys typical playing patterns of collecting, customising and competing. They are not just another spinning tops game. There are different Strikers with different strengths and weaknesses to collect. Each striker can be customised to be completely unique offering a depth to the game. Finally being able to control the Striker during battle means skills can be developed to achieve success in competitive play. They are a fun game to play.
