A forklift boom enables you to get more use out of your equipment and to increase its productivity. A boon is often an attachment that gives a forklift more strengthens the machine in order to lift a heavier load. Although it must be said that with additional equipment training in the proper use of it is required in order to ensure safety in the workplace.
Some of the main types of booms are coil booms, carpet booms, shooting booms, and pole booms. Most of the attachment can be put into place on the forklift with a locking bar.
A coil boom, or pole, is used to move coiled ropes or other coiled materials. Such as wire, pipes, or any other rolled or cylindrical material.
Carpet booms, or poles, are used for the transporting of carpet or any other rolled flooring. Although other kinds of heavier lifting are not possible with this type of attachment.
A shooting boom, or telehandler, is most often used in outdoor construction, ranching jobs, or any other job where rough terrain is involved. This telescopic boom has a lift height of at least twenty to sixty feet.
Pipe booms are used for moving pipes and other similarly shaped objects. Although if a pipe boom is to be used then it is recommended that care should be taken to ensure that damage to the interior of the pipes is prevented. Some business or construction concerns that often have a need for lifting pipes prefer to use a lifting sling instead of a pipe boom.
Be aware though that training in the proper operation of any type of forklift boom is required to ensure the safety of fellow workers and the prevent of damage to the goods that are moved. Therefore when considering the acquiring of an attachment to your forklift make sure there is someone around who knows how to use it.
